Aubry has amazing taste. I loved her yellow shoes and tulips. Along with his yellow tie everything looked amazing. And the capitol ended up being the perfect location….even if it did cause a few headaches. I’m so glad that everything turned out so well. I love the Utah Capitol it is beautiful and elegant for a bridal groomal session. The light is also amazing with it’s skylights. I decided to go a little crazy with photo corners on this post. You’ll have to let me know if you like them or not. I’m so excited for this wedding and all my others coming up!
Urban engagement photos in Salt Lake City.
Engagement sessions are always my favorite. It’s a chance to get to know my couple and how they interact together–to learn what makes their chemistry work. Jason and Whitney are hysterical and definitely have some amazing chemistry together. Whitney wanted to do their engagement photos around downtown graffiti walls. She even showed me a few I didn’t know about. Here are a few pics from the session.
Engagement photos at Trolley Square and the Capitol!
I love shooting clients that are referrals. I felt like Jessica and Derek trusted me from the beginning of the shoot and it made is so natural and comfortable to photograph them. Derek is an awesome groom, he’s not camera shy at all! And it is so evident that he loves Jessica so much. I loved that he loved showing off and kissing her in front of her mom. I’m always up for making a shoot a party so my brides are always welcome to bring friends and family along. Jessica’s mom was a star and made an awesome assistant. Jessica I’m so excited to shoot your wedding in May!
Fun and trendy engagement shoot in downtown Salt Lake City!
Much to my husband’s dismay I love to collect items I think would be cool to use as props in photographs. Lately I have been stockpiling old suitcases. I’m glad that I finally pulled them out for a couple shoots this weekend. It was so much fun to work with Jenni and Nate to get these awesome photos! They can totally rock the serious look but I loved it when I caught sweet little moments where Nate made Jenni smile. There is just something so fresh and exciting about being around engaged couples. Check out this awesome engagement shoot taken in downtown Salt Lake City.
A classic beauty for a bride! And a tour around Ogden!
I love photographing Ashley. She has such a fun personality and I was happy to have her dad along for most of the Bridal shoot. Seriously, more dads should come. Well, if your dad is as cool as Ashley’s! He has serious connections and helped to make most of this shoot possible. and he is a lot of fun! I can’t wait to meet more of her family at her wedding. I never knew that Ogden had so many cool locations, I love all the spots that Ashley chose! I loved this shoot because every time I looked at through my camera I was floored by Ashley’s beauty. If you know her you probably know how much fun it is to be around her, but her classical beauty is breathtaking. I kept thinking she looked like Cleopatra or maybe a Greek goddess. Here’s the pics!

Engagements in the Snow that will melt your heart!
Kim is one of my roommates from college and I am so excited to shoot her wedding! It was so much fun to see her again and reminisce over old stories of running out of toilet paper and roommates stealing our milk! Kim is just one of those people who make me laugh all the time! I love being around her! I’m so glad that she has found Ryan and that he is such a catch! I’m so happy for her! Ryan is from Park City and they both love the snow. I feel so loved! Featured on the Utah Bride Blog
You know that boy you really liked in high school? Do you remember how you use to get up fifteen minutes early and do your hair really cute just in case you saw him….and you walked by his locker fifty times just so you would see him? Look at his picture in the yearbook and dream of a day you might be his? Well, I have to apologize to my sweet and very handsome husband Jon that I don’t spend as much time worrying or trying to impress him. But it is fun to see how your goals can change as you grow up. As of lately, with the wedding photography business, my latest goal was to be featured on Utah Bride Blog. I had oogled over the beautiful photos and awesome photographers who had been featured on there every week. I’m so excited that today they chose to feature me. Kristan was simply a stunning and an amazing bride to work with! She and Joel rocked her wedding and I had an awesome time capturing it. I’m on cloud nine today and it feels just like that one time when that really hot guy smiled back to me in the hall and said, “hi.”
Thanks Utah Bride Blog!
And buy things from these people! They make awesome and pretty products I would love to photograph at your wedding!

From Sand to Snow: Bountiful Reception!
It was fun to see the dramatic change from Newport Beach, California to Bountiful, Utah. I was actually glad to see a pretty white blanket of snow on the ground. And I adored how Courtney brought some of the beach back with her. The sea shells were an awesome touch to all of her decor. And I have never seen such an awesome beach themed cake before!
My favorite candid photos always seem to be the daddy daughter dance. It can sometimes be a really personal and emotional moment for the bride and her dad. I was happy to be there to capture this for Courtney. These are a few of the dance shots that I really loved, they are really sweet and fun.
This is what our awesome little photos strips looked like. Courtney made a cute little guest book with her copies of the photos. She’ll also get them high res on her DVD.
Faux photo booth photos to come. It’s way too late tonight to get them all posted!
