How/when/where did you first meet?
 
-Ryan and Emily are both Juniors at Brigham Young University. He is three years older, but because of his LDS mission, they will graduate together- He in Finance, and she in Family History. 
 
In January of 2016 Emily moved into a new apartment complex with a friend. On Sunday January 31st, she happened to go to church alone and ended up sitting by herself. Ryan was blessing the Sacrament that day, and as he was looking around the room for a place to sit, he noticed a beautiful girl sitting alone…. so he sat next to her. The bishop of their ward was speaking that day and because he was so funny, Emilylaughed all throughout the meeting. Ryan quickly fell in love with her cute laugh and beautiful big blue eyes. She noticed his note-taking skills… and rugged handsomeness! The next day they happened to be working out at the gym at the same time. Ryan was determined to get to know Emily better so when she left the gym, he ran out after her and asked her to go out on a date with him that Saturday. The two clicked on that first date,which was filled with laughter, a long drive, and amazing conversations. Neither wanted the date to end. Ryan kept asking Emily out every weekend, and Emily kept saying “Yes!” to every single one. Over the course of time, the two fell head over heels in love with each other. More than seven months later, on Friday, September 2nd, Ryan took Emily out for a romantic dinner and afterwards they went to the Provo City Center Temple. While walking around the grounds, Ryan pointed out a beautiful bouquet of red roses accompanied by a note. After looking closer, they “found out” that it was for Emily. Ryan had previously written out a sweet proposal poem which they then read together. As the poem ended, Ryan got down on one knee by the fountain and asked Emily to marry him. Following a long and happy tradition… she said, “Yes!”

I am a Utah wedding photographer.  The Payson Utah temple was so pretty this day.  Even for a winter wedding the Payson Utah Temple is still so beautiful.  I love shooting mormon weddings at the Payson Temple.  Payson Temple Weddings are so fun in their country setting of Utah.  These cute kids are from out of state but the Payson Temple is close to Brigham Young University.  Payson Temple weddings are a great fit for a girl who is going to BYU.  This was the first time I have ever photographed a wedding at the Payson Temple and I loved being there to take their wedding photos.

Congratulations to this cute couple Courtney and Courtland!  Way to make it easy to remember names on this one!  😉  I was a lucky wedding photographer and got to photograph her sister’s wedding as well.  I always feel loved when multiple siblings in a family use my services.  It was a beautiful wedding.  The couple was stunning, great food and a gorgeous backdrop.  What more could you want!

Fun Couple Story:

I think a funny story is that this couple got engaged July 24 in Pittsburgh and married Sept. 9. the same year.  He was living in Texas, she was living in Pittsburgh and the wedding is in Salt Lake.  We live in Omaha and also took a trip to Norway with the bride from July 29 to Aug 10.  Its been a whirlwind but hope all goes well.

I know it’s been shot a million gazillion times (and that was just last Saturday) but I absolutely love the Salt Lake City Temple.  Even after all the weddings I have photographed there I still love it the best.  When you get a bride that is really exited to work with you, like Kimmy was, it makes it that much better.  Seeing young is always such a refreshing part of my job.  Kimmy had given me plenty of time for photos.  It makes it so nice to have a lot of time when photographing the Salt Lake City temple, mostly because the grounds are so large and its fun to go to less photographed places on Temple Square.  Walking from one place to another at the Salt Lake City temple can eat up a lot of your time.  Loved spending the day with these two!  Here are some fun facts about them.

How he proposed:

Devin proposed on our 6 month anniversary on December 6th, 2014–at a beautiful overlook behind the Laie Temple.  (Oh, he just proposed in Hawaii by a beautiful temple that looked like a castle…no biggie–girl you need to learn to exaggerate!  We want the juicy details of your one of a kind engagement!)

Rob and Yael had an amazing Salt Lake City wedding.  All the details where so stunning and you could just feel how much they loved each other.  It was so great to be a part of their wedding!

Their Engagement story:
I was going to be sent on a 2 month work assignment to Singapore in July 2014. Knowing how close Singapore was from unique places in South East Asia, Rob and I decided to plan a vacation at the end of my assignment. I was really impressed that Rob wanted to come visit me on the other side of the world. When i was in Singapore, I saved my money and counted down the days for when I would meet him again. I knew we would have the best time ever!
 
He finally arrived in Singapore. I was so excited and had missed him so much. I would daydream about us and how ideal it would be if he proposed during that trip. Bali was our first destination. It was majestic and full of beautiful temples and beaches. We had so many magical moments while we were there, that I frequently thought “I wish he proposed right now.” (Now i know that he had also thought about proposing at some of those places).
 
Our last day in Bali, we decided to go to the beach for a walk in the morning. It was a long beautiful beach. The sea, the sand, the sky, ah! It was all so perfect! He asked me, “have you ever thought of where our relationship is going?” And i said “what do you mean?” I wanted him to be more specific. Then he said, “have you ever thought about us getting married?” which made my heart start beating fast and my legs go weak. Then, trying to keep my cool, i said, “Yes, i.. i.. have considered it… i.. i would marry you”. Then he said, “You have already answered, but i haven’t asked you… Would you marry me?” I said YES, YES, YES! and we walked to the side of the beach trying to internalize the moment and capture the beauty of it all. We sat down and he read me “A perfect poem for a perfect girl”. I was out-of-this-world happy! 
 
The rest of the trip was amazing. We shared getting really sick and tired. We might have got mad once. But there were plenty of fun adventures, and loving words, and caring for each other.We just knew we were meant to be together and can’t wait to start our new life together.

Having a Salt Lake Temple wedding is kinda like getting married in Cinderella’s Castle, or at least I imagine it being that way.  The Salt Lake Temple does look a lot to me like a princess castle.  The Salt Lake Temple weddings that I have shot there are always happy and picture perfect.  I can’t wait for all my brides this season having Salt Lake Temple Weddings!

Fun facts about the couple:
-Alex and I met when we were 15 years old and dated off and on in high school. Then when we moved to college (we didn’t plan to go to the same college or live in the same apartment complex) but we ended up living a few doors away from each other and it didn’t take long for either of us to realize that we were meant for each other. It was all about timing. We started dating in December of 2012 and have been best friends ever since. We have been through so much together and have kept our relationship strong even when I was in Walt Disney world for 4 months last fall in Florida. Alex came to visit me in October and proposed to me at dinner inside Cinderella’s castle. It was a dream come true. 🙂

Here is the couples story!  My all time favorite wedding proposal!  It’s killer just take a peek!I think our best couple claim to fame is Micah’s awesome proposal. My favorite holiday is Halloween, like, I’m obsessed with it. I thought micah might want to propose on Halloween so I kinda expected it. He asked me a few months before if he could lie to me for the sake of me not finding out about the proposal, and from then on he lied a lot 😉 I guess I’m pretty good at finding stuff out so he pulled out all the stops so I would have no idea. He faked a business trip to California, even sent me fake pictures, he made my roommate and friend lie to me about having free tickets to fear factory in salt lake. It was great. My roommate and I got “VIP” passes to skip the line and go through the haunted house together. It was awesome, and near the end there was a haunted carnival with a bunch of clowns running around. A fortune teller came up to me and said my name and led me into a dark corner. I was kinda freaked out wondering how they knew my name, if this was micah’s doing, what was happening. I dismissed the thought of a proposal because I thought micah was out of state on a business trip. The rest is kind of a blur but I remember one clown asking me all these personal questions and then from the back of the crowd of clowns micah came out, took off his mask, got down on one knee and proposed amid the chainsaws and screams of the haunted house. It might have been weird to anyone else but it was more than I could have ever dreamed. So much fun and so creative! Bridal session at Gardner Village
